New York Travel Guide (Offline Maps) NYC - mTrip App Reviews

Location-based feature is usually at least 3 blocks off until you let it scan for 5 minutes or more, and there is no way to manually specify your starting location. Useless "share" feature taking up space in bottom bar. Subway information workflow is really cumbersome! Come on, guys, this is New York - my most important information is how to find the right Subway station and then what are the transfers to get there - your route feature doesnt even have line colors or a subway overlay. (Ive also seen some crashes on the overview map.) You guys made a pretty itinerary app, but more people need to use it *during* the trip too. Ill grant that a lot of the information, once everything was working together, was a great help (tip: use the Route feature and then go check the Subway map). But in a pinch, everything is so painful.

I have been using this app non stop throughout my visit to NYC. The app is extremely helpful, and its fairly simple to use. The reason Im not giving it 5/5 is because of a couple of things. The first is the GPS Locator - it takes a couple of trys to get your location right. Secondly, there needs to be a few more shopping attractions. Some specific, well known shopping stops were not Im there. Overall, I would call this app an absolute essential to have when traveling to New York City. The built-in maps, along with the stellar itinerary feature really make it a pleasure to use.

This app has been awesome in helping us find points of interest in NYC. I definitely recommend it. Its a great help with restaurants and pubs, etc.

The offline map is pure gold. Very useful for navigating around NY.

I havent seen such a well prepared guide before, once seen and used it I can easily see it can be improved much further.

Best offline travel guide one could only wish. Exceeded my expectations - great routing, great attractions rating, great planning opportunities. 5 stars.

After tried all travel apps, I found this one. And I would like to say that NYC mTrip is incredible. mTrip Genius is just fantastic, like appStore but for your trip! I used it for my wedding trip and I am really happy. We had a wonderful personalized trip. Thanks a lot mTrip!

It shows me the directions by foot but not by subway but other than that this app is great

Everyone has been saying how great the MTrip apps are so I bought this one for a recent trip to visit a girlfriend and see some sites in NYC. I thought the reviews were really lame and didnt provide any context or flavor for the attractions, restaurants (Per Se is a french restaurant with a nice atmosphere??!), etc. Lots of errors too (the Highlane vs. the Highline?) Found the restaurant search really confusing. And the automatic itinerary generator would kill you if you followed its advice. Had me going to the Bronx Zoo and DUMBO in Brooklyn in the same morning. Impossible. The idea of Mtrip is great and it has nice features, but ultimately you need to get the content right.

Pros: Functions off line Perfect foot and subway directions Everything is here and suggested itineraries are very good. Easy to customize Intuitive Cons: Absolutely none. Beats any paper guide book by miles.

Auto itinerary looked great at first but wasnt practical and content is just copied from wikipedia. Who wants to pay for wiki? Yeah it works off line, but give me something I cant look up for free. Fancy wrapper, cheap chocolate.

I had to manually enter a lot of places and restaurants (actually famous and good restaurants) because are not included in the app. This app should be free.

I love this app it is easy to figure out how to spend my time.

Would love to see the ability to add notes for example I have a specific time to go to top of the rock and the statue of liberty just afternoon is not good enough other then that great app

My first at NYC was very easy, the app tells you which train to take, how long will it take from your hotel till the destination... So every time I o to NYC I always use the app,!!
